How We Got Started
Charleston Landscaping Design & Development was born from a passion for beautiful outdoor spaces and a desire to create something meaningful for the Charleston community. Our story begins with Marshall Goldstein, who spent many years managing country clubs, where he developed a keen eye for well-manicured landscapes and an appreciation for the art of outdoor design. As the company grew, Marshall’s vision expanded. With a deep-rooted love for beautiful outdoor spaces, Marshall Goldstein’s journey into landscaping began in the world of country club management. For years, Marshall honed his skills in overseeing lush landscapes, well-maintained grounds, and stunning outdoor features. His role in country clubs allowed him to develop a sharp eye for detail, a passion for design, and an appreciation for the role outdoor spaces play in people’s lives.
However, Marshall always knew his heart was in transforming outdoor spaces on a larger scale. In search of greater fulfillment and a way to make a direct impact on his community, he left the country club industry behind and launched a small landscape maintenance company. His commitment to quality and customer satisfaction helped him grow this modest business into what is now Charleston Landscaping Design & Development, recognized as hardscaping experts in the Lowcountry.
